Looking Back at 2023

During 2021 and 2022, the United States experienced “The Great Resignation”. This event saw increasing numbers of employees decide to change employers or careers in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. This outcome had been slow to reach our shores. Australians contemplated change and job mobility increased by 2% to 9.5 for both years ending February 2022 and 2023. During 2023, Strategic Career Coaching saw a significant increase in client numbers from Education, Healthcare and the Emergency Services. We continued to feel the fallout of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2023. These “essential service” workers, who carried us throughout that period, have awakened to the realisation that work-life could be better. This has brought many teachers, nurses, paramedics and allied healthcare workers to career coaching in 2023.

There has also been an increasing number of self-employed clients looking for job security from career transition.

In 2023, Strategic Career Coaching has continued to work remotely with the majority of clients. Whilst some have preferred to return to face-to-face meetings in Melbourne and Vermont, the majority of our clients continue to appreciate the accessibility of remote meetings online.

We look forward to working with all our clients in 2024, from diverse industry sectors across Australia and the world.
